Our stay in the Thuringian Forest was delightful, offering great value for a family getaway. The food was truly amazing, providing a rich variety of traditional German dishes each night. While the rooms were quite basic and could use some updates, the numerous family-friendly facilities made up for it. It's worth noting that having a German speaker in the group is essential since English isn't widely spoken here.
